SchoolMessenger: Integrating West’s Brand

SchoolMessenger is one of the largest parent communication services in the United States, providing school notification, websites and mobile apps for thousands of schools. SchoolMessenger is owned by the global communications company West Corporation. In an effort to solidify the affiliation with West to strengthen both brands, while also retaining the historical brand value of the SchoolMessenger name, the company turned to Captiva to reimagine all graphic design materials.

An Evolving Brand

The Captiva team has been consulting for members of the SchoolMessenger team for over 10 years, first with a company named SchoolReach, who was purchased by SchoolMessenger. As a result, this was the third collateral/branding update completed by our team. Each iteration is more modern while retaining a focus on delivering high quality information to schools and other partners.

From Sell Sheets to Tradeshows

When concepting the brand evolution, every small piece was considered, from sell sheets, brochures and whitepapers, to major tradeshow displays. We focused on West’s logo with their main “We connect. We deliver.” tagline but gave the SchoolMessenger branding prominent placement on each material.

Unforgettable Events

Additionally, SchoolMessenger hosts the premiere event at one of the National events for professionals in educational communication. Captiva helps concept a theme for each event which carries through to all materials including postcards, tickets, buttons, websites and more to help SchoolMessenger celebrate with their valued customers.

Recruitment Fraud Alert

A new identity theft scam has hit the recruitment industry. It has come to our attention that fraudulent emails are being sent by fake companies posing as recruiters or posing as an employee of an organization, like Captiva, to recruit candidates.

These unofficial requests stem from Gmail accounts or fake LinkedIn/Indeed accounts and not from official company accounts. They direct users to attend a Google Hangout interview and then proceed to interview a candidate while asking for personal information. At Captiva Marketing, our first step in the applicant screening process includes an email from an official Captiva Marketing email account to schedule a traditional phone call. This request will come from an official Captiva Marketing email address and not a gmail.com address. We do not request a Google Hangout nor do we use a Gmail account with our recruiting process. Initial communications will not request sensitive information, including but not limited to social security numbers, birth dates, bank information, etc. during our interview process. While giving out personal information to organizations, please be diligent. If you have any concerns about a request coming from Captiva Marketing, please contact us at 314-822-3656 and ask for Melissa Berner.
